The UCLH Hand and Wrist Trauma Course

Overview

Course Information

A single day course covering the principles of management of injuries to the bones and soft tissues of the hand and wrist. Designed for surgeons at the earlier stages of their training.

The faculty of leading orthopaedic and plastics hand surgeons will explain the principles of diagnosing and managing fractures and tendon injuries to the hand and wrist, prior to supervised practical workshops using prosthetic and animal models.

Course Objectives

Understand the applied anatomy of the hand and wrist
Gain confidence in diagnosing bony and soft tissue injuries in the hand and wrist
Gain experience in management and repair of wrist and metacarpal fractures
Gain experience in management and repair of flexor and extensor tendon injuries in the hand
